We so often read stories from the Old testament and even from the new, and act like we could have done better, that we are different than the doubting disciples or the disobedient Israelites, but we are human like them and fall into the same patterns and pitfalls.
Personally, I felt like I go a reminder when I read these 2 verses. Guess what? Our ancestors failed to remember the miracles of God and so do we!
So often I sink into the mundaness of life and I sometimes place our wonderful God in that category. Yeah, He’s always there, always dependable. I forget that He is powerful and a live and can do anything.
That’s why I feel encouraged to remind myself and others of the miracles He has done and continues to do. They didn’t stop. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. So, the same God who healed a blind man, walked on water, rose from the dead, is answering your prayers.
Don’t forget that for forty years like the Israelites did.
