Follow at a Distance

Joshua 3:3-4

giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits[a] between you and the ark; do not go near it.”

Well, I’m leaving. I’ve been in AZ for the past 17/18 years and this past year I’ve asked the Lord where He wants me to go. He didn’t show me or speak to me about that for months and months.

Like the Israelites in this passage, I knew I couldn’t move until He lead. I had to wait for the ark of the covenant of the Lord to move and then follow it.

He did move! He opened a job up for me in a new place so I followed Him.

This is truly a way I’ve never been before. I truly must follow His lead, if I try to go my own way, I will fail, I will get lost.

The Israelites followed out at a distance.

To me, that means in my situation, not going a head, laying the path at His feet.

I can so easily make my own plans, have my own expectations, but He is the only one who can truly pave the path. So, I must follow a little bit behind, I must allow Him to lead.
